"GREEN" EXPERIENCE
The waste industry has been actively “going green” for nearly 20 years. Vince has been at the forefront of these changes. For example, he was one on the founders of the Recycling Association of Minnesota (RAM). He also started the Ronald McDonald pop tab recycling program in 1989. This program has raised over 27 million dollars to date for Ronald McDonald charities in the United States. This program shows a creative way to heighten the awareness of recycling while providing much needed funds for a worthy charity.
"DO IT" CAMPAIGN
Another successful project was with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota. It was a take off on their very successful “do campaign.” We’ve all seen the “dancing man in the doctor’s office” commercial. The thrust of the campaign is to get up and be active; “do” anything physical. Vince took this concept “green.” He designed a program on the BC/BS campus with “do centers” for office material collection, including single-sort recycling, waste, organic recycling and security recycling. BC/BS employees were able to better manage their waste materials. This reduced cost on many levels for the company. Click below to view Vince Vanella's professional profile.
